KBOW signed on the air in February 1947 by Frank “Skinny” Reardon. In 1962, Shag Miller purchased KBOW and operated the station for the next 32 years, selling to current owners Ron & Shelly Davis in 1994. In 2017, KBOW celebrated seventy years of local hometown ownership.

• PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS: KBOW promotes functions by supporting numerous groups, non-profit organizations, fundraisers and community events.
• NEWS: CBS News airs at the top of every hour and Montana News runs at the bottom of each hour.
• WEATHER: KBOW has the current weather forecast and driving conditions six (6) times daily with the Weather Watch by meteorologist Jim Duthie.
• AGRICULTURAL NEWS: KBOW broadcasts agricultural reports produced by the Northern Ag Network four (4) times daily.
• CLUB CALENDAR: at 11:40am daily and has been a key morning element in our lineup for over forty years. It features upcoming local events, group meetings and club notices.
• SWAP SHOP: at 11:05am daily is a service whereby individuals with items to buy, sell, trade or giveaway are encouraged to call, text or email KBOW to air their goods on Swap Shop.
• PARTYLINE: KBOW features a one-hour talk show weekdays at 1:06pm. PARTYLINE hosted by Ron Davis, is the longest running radio talk show, in the same time slot, in the northwest United States. PARTYLINE has broadcast since 1948. The topics include local, regional, national and world issues and concerns. PARTYLINE features townspeople, government officials, agency representatives, and listeners who provide informative discussion and dialog.
Trivia Day is Fridays on PARTYLINE with Maverick & Maggie. Listeners call in and answer a trivia question to win a car wash.
• SPORTS: KBOW is committed to bringing local sports to our listeners and is passionate about highlighting and focusing on local student-athletes and their achievements.
“Sports and Stuff” weekdays, with our award-winning sports broadcaster, Paul Panisko who shares national and local sports scores, game highlights, standings and upcoming games.
“The Score” a five-minute afternoon sports update previews upcoming local and national sporting events and recaps scores and highlights of recent games.
“Overtime” a two-hour in-depth sports talk show that airs Wednesday nights. The show is hosted by Paul Panisko and ButteSports.com editor, Bill Foley. Shows include interviews with high school coaches, college coaches and athletes.
“Play-by-Play Sports” Paul Panisko announces play-by-play sports for Butte High School and Montana Tech.
